Not very helpful

There is not much here to review, since the book can be completed in about 15 minutes. This is for college students looking to review research/professional literature for an assignment rather than for the average person.
The steps are so incredibly simple that I question why this book even needed to be written. For example, some of the steps are "research" and "write the paper". Really?! How ever would I have known to write my paper without this book?!
This book reads like a glorified Wikihow article that you have to pay for. It says in the description that it even has study tips, many of which amount to "just do it". Not very helpful...

This is an excellent read for those who need to write a Literature Review but also for many other writers in different task areas.
All those who researching, analyzing and are writing essays, dissertations or papers should seriously consider this a resourceful book. It is straight forward, precise in context and suggestions. It keeps you moving forward and "if your stuck" it provides helpful practical suggestions.

Not as good as the first, but a great resource for students

This is the second book Ollhoff has written about literature reviews. While I like both, I feel the first (while not a step-by-step guide) has more practical advice. This, however, does a nice job of taking a student from zero to completion. I particularly appreciate his guidance on how to choose a topic.
Honestly I recommend both of his books on this, and would recommend those interested read his other book first before using this one. Yes, there is some repetition, but I appreciate his definition of a literature review through negation a better way of introducing the subject. I highly recommend these books for all students who take me for class.
